 I love this book, but title is deceiving...Jan 17, 2010
Beautiful book. This is not a how-to, more like a big book of jewelry design and color combination inspirations. It is broken down into 6 chapters (1. Beads + Baubles 2. Paper + Mixed Media 3. Ploymer + Precious Metal Clay 4. Vintage + Repurposed 5. Fibers + Fabric 6. Wire + Metal). Since many of the artisans/designers in the book use, say, beads & wire in their designs, their designs show up in two chapters (chapter 1 and chapter 6), thus, the comment that the title is deceiving. In truth, there are not 1000 Jewelry Inspirations, more like 990 Jewelry Inspirations, since I've found approx. 10 designs that have been repeated throughout this book. Hard for me to believe with all of the jewelry designers out there (the DIY movement in this country is HUGE, be it at local craft fairs, farmer's markets or on [...]) that the editor was not able to find 1000 truly different, unique designs out there.

Page after page of delightful eye candy in a variety of jewelry categories. I loved seeing such a diverse variety of design interpretations filling every page to overflowing. Looking thru a book like this makes my mind start racing around with new ideas for my own projects and I was delighed to have a few of my own creations included in this treasure book of ideas. What a diverse lot of artisans and ideas to enjoy and think about next time I'm ready to get busy at my workbench. Thanks Sandra for this bevy of beads, baubles, dangles, and chains to feed the creative mind!

This is a great book to see what Jewelry Artists are designing and making. There are so many beautiful pieces to enjoy. It is like going to a Museum of Jewelry. Check out my pieces.

I was really looking forward to getting this book as a gift for a crafty friend. I was a bit disapointed with the items as some looked pretty home made and not so professional. Possibly useful as inspiration for a beginner.
