They do glow in the dark.May 18, 2011

These are pretty basic items. They are beads and they glow in the dark. Not much else to say, but i have some philisophy on these beads. These can be used for homemade jewlerly for all the little girlies out there. However, i bought these to fasten to my camping and edc gear for easy location in the dark. Particularly, i tie these on my bark river bravo 1 lanyard, a $240 knife i do not want to loose in the dark woods. Having seen the beads in the dark, they light up plenty bright, so should serve me fairly well. After all, the beads are intended for creative purposes, so get creative with them as they can be handy in different situations

As the previous reviewer mentioned (thanks, by the way, it's why I bought them) these are not just for cutesy arts projects, but they are very practical as a way to mark your belongings for camping trips so you don't lose things in the dark. Our summer Scout camp uses beads and coups on neck chains for reward incentives for the kids. ("Thanks for helping pick up that trash -- here, have a bead." "Did you put on your sunscreen before you arrived today? Here, have a bead." etc...) The kids loved these and really went out of their way to earn them -- they were considered more "special" than just an ordinary colored bead. They do actually work, too -- they glow in the dark very well. I'm going to try to figure a way to attach them to the tent ropes to hopefully help keep people from tripping over them in the dark.
