great for bead embroideryJul 20, 2007
By M. Poller The English translation is excellent in this book and the pictures all in color show everything (actual stitching with the beads) full size. After the introductory material on beads, threads, etc, she begins with the most basic stitches arranged in family groups. There are line stitches, filling stitches, looped, detached and variations including sequins and flowers. The book is great for embroidery on any material including knit fabric but it is also a good starting point for making jewelry that involves embroidery with beads. There are no projects except for the cover sampler. Some of the stitches included are: outline, couching, satin, long and short, fishbone, rose, petal, lazy daisy, chain, fly, feather, twisted chain, leaf, raised stitches, etc. The binding seems pretty sturdy and the print is also good size. Highly recommended.

Exquisite details!Mar 11, 2008

"beady lady"
You are taken through the basic steps that might mystify you before you start, such as finishing off thread. The exquisite details will help in getting you through the stages of the embroidery. The pages of the book are stiff and you need a book stand with clips to keep it open. I found the variety of stitches demonstrated inspiring and will go back to the book as I progress in a project. An important detail not included was the angle of a needle to have a bead sit straight (found in another book). Excellent referral source.

My Favorite Bead Embroidery bookJan 18, 2008
By D. Townsend I haven't had a chance to try the techniques out yet but in thumbing through the pages this one looks by far the best bead embroidery book I've seen as far as illustrations and easy to understand instructions go.

It is small and handy book. I am happy I got it. It gave me ideas and imagination what can be done.
